WHO IS MARQUIS BLACK?
MarQuis Black, an American Negro Designer from Columbus, Ohio, discovered his passion for fashion, inspired by creative icons like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Eazy-E. Whether it was showing up to first period wearing dark shades or being ahead of the latest trends by taking fashion risks, he developed his own signature style and persona. Noticing a lack of streetwear brands created by Black creatives, he aimed to create something and rooted in culture. Learning to sew and tailor from his great-grandmother, he began upcycling and screen printing clothes for friends. Teaming up with artist and classmate Jordan Portis, he developed his official logo, marking the start of his empire.
